What’s so cool about this pie chart anyhow?
Over 1/2 of people (51%) who listen to the podcast do so right here on the website.
4% of the listeners are using a Zune player to listen to the podcast. I am glad that I listened to the feedback from people and added the Subscribe in Zune button on the site. It’s nice to see a new feature actually being used.
Apple might have 70% of the overall market-share for portable MP3 players, but according to the stats, around 90% of the people who grab the podcast to listen on their own machine, do so with iTunes.
The other 1% of listeners use either WinAmp, iPodder and Apple TV to download and listen to the podcast, proving that it’s not just the well-known pod-catcher applications that are being used.

I couldn’t help but comment on the release of the Stargate DVD “The Ark of Truth”, it’s just too good!
The interview that Gateworld.net posted with Christopher Judge, and the recent “Religion in Stargate” discussion thread in the official SGW forums are covered along with cherry-picking the most interesting questions and answers from the first 16 pages of the “Ask the Creative Director” thread in the forums.
Lastly, the episode looks at some of the recent feedback that I’ve received … well done to Loki (of the Australian Stargate Unit) and sgtbenc for correctly guessing the “Easter Egg” that was encoded into recent episodes of the show.

| SG1-Radio’s “ZPM” Show with DJ Tenchi and DJ Wraith Filed under: Podcast — Paul @ 11:00 pm on March 8th, 2008 |
SG1-Radio’s “ZPM” Show (Zero Points Made) show hosted by DJ Tenchi and DJ Wraith had two special guests today: Scepter and BizarroDerek from CME. Questions were invited from the hundreds of fans waiting in the #Stargate-Worlds IRC channel on SGW IRC. A full log of the IRC channel is up on the SGW IRC site where you can see everyone’s enthusiasm and eagerness to get their questions answered and, also, some commentary on the show as it was in progress. I believe that the folks at SGW IRC have also made available their captured log of the audio from the show too.

| Script Frenzy 2008 Filed under: Fanfic — Paul @ 10:46 am on March 1st, 2008 |
Script Frenzy is an international writing event where you attempt the (somewhat insane) feat of writing a 100 page screen or stage play script in a single month. The site says,
Spurred by a wild deadline and buoyed by a community of countless other writers, Script Frenzy participants can’t be bothered with self-doubt—or editing. They’re too busy writing by the seat of their pants, typing out beautiful, flawed stories that no one else could have dreamt up.
There’s absolutely no entry fee and there are also no prizes awarded or “best” scripts singled out. Every writer who completes the goal of 100 pages is declared “victorious” and will get a Script Frenzy Winner’s Certificate and web icon proclaiming this fact. Even those who fall short of the word goal will be applauded for making a heroic attempt. Really, you have nothing to lose except that nagging feeling that there’s a script inside you that may never get out.
If you need more details, check out the Script Frenzy Frequently Asked Questions.
I participated in Script Frenzy last year and had a blast. I wrote a historical action/horror screenplay somewhat like “Gladiator” meets “Blade“. Real life intervened part way through the month and I came up short on page-count - only managed about 44 pages in total - but it was a lot of fun!
The ScriptFrenzy.org site suggests a couple of ideas to prepare you:
If you want to participate, jump on over to ScriptFrenzy.org and sign up. Then let me know and I’ll link your profile here on the site in one of two groups: “Stargate Themed” and “Non-Stargate”. I will be happy to archive the finished results (as in, the story finished, even if the page-count falls short) here on the site for the Stargate Themed stories.
