Episode 18 of GateBuzz: covering an exciting news item about the upcoming beta of Stargate Worlds (as mentioned by Khatie in the official forums) and my fascinating in depth investigation into the mysterious “FireSky” game publisher along with the unexpected gems of information I uncovered in the process.

You mention that you think that CME owns FireSky. You base it on the fact that the FireSky domain is controlled by CME. Well for the record it states that FireSky is owned by CME on FireSky.com
“FireSky, Inc., a wholly-owned publishing subsidiary of Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment”
Ahh, you are absolutely correct in that, but you note that the podcast finished off with “I could have simply waited for the official press releases and articles, but where’s the fun in that?”
I was actually digging things up (a) while the FireSky website was still broken (showing blank pages) for Firefox browsers and (b) deliberately limiting myself to what you can infer from such things as domain records and the like as it’s a useful technique for people to know about when it comes to more “mysterious” websites.
I guess I missed that part. Too true!
BTW: It’s worth noting that most or all ISPs have their own caches of DNS entries ready for you inside their own networks. (For quicker access I guess.) So as far as I know, you and I don’t even access the root or TLD servers for the most part.
