Dont be confused by the date - its YY/MM/DD format to avoid confusion between Europe and USA. 7pm EST … that’s 6pm here in Central time.

If you don’t already have an IRC client, might I suggest pointing your browser at the download page for mIRC (if you’re a Windows user) or perhaps grabbing XChat Aqua if you’re a Mac user. I run both, depending on the machine that I am on, and love ‘em!
